PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

Post Production 7

Me and my partner Gareth filmed our music video up in South Bank with the help of Serife and Rizwana because they were filming in the same location with us. We done the whole song and re-worked some stuff to improve our song. In the previous recording we didn't do well due to my eye contact with the camera which would bring down our grade if we kept the original footage. On the day we filmed all the versuses and Chorus one and two and used various location in central london such as Oxford Street, Waterloo and South Bank. The filming took a lot of time and it was annoying to film due to the weather which affected the lens. The rain made the lens frost/blur up due to droplets so we had to film shots more than once to make it look good.
When we got back to school we had to upload all our footage and reconstruct our entire piece of  footage to construct our video. In are post production we used white screen in the last chorus and ending this was used as fillers so we didn't have any gaps whenproducing the song.
After finishing our song after long hours of editing we had to make two copies are song low quality and hight quality. The low quality copy got put on YouTube and posted on our blogs. We also had to put are work on to the school hard drive (Lacie) which was high quality.

Post-Production 6

This week me and my partner Gareth went up to South Bank to film parts of our music video for class. The shot filmed on the day seemed to be relavent for our music video that was meant to be nearly completed for school the next week. When filming we used various location up and down the South Bank which was a great in terms of framing. On the day we filmed the chorus and one verse which wast soo bad but we had to use myself because my orginal cast proved to be unreliable for use therefore we had to use myself in order to finish the project and get it completed. On the day of filming the weather wasn't great it didn't hinder our ability to film but we managed to get through it even though it left our fingers numb the filming produced was to decent standard.
When we got back to school we uploaded our footage and it prove to be a small amount recorded as We started editing we realised that there was more work that needed to be done the following week which was very stressful the following week. Our shots we filmed proved to not as good as we orginally thought but sir altough harsh gave good advice on how we could fix the problem and how to improve the clips we shot. In the shots we filmed my eye contact with the camera was pretty poor and did not look convicing or trust worthy.

Production Week 5

During this week me and my partner Gareth went up to Waterloo to re-film our music video to edit the following week. Our cast proved to be unreliable therefore i had to step in and be the main artist in the video. On our first day of re-shooting we managed to get a large amount of shots on the South Bank. South Bank was great because the weather was decent and the sceneary was great. On the first day we tried to get different camera angles and shots to help engage the audince and capture emotion of the song.
On the second day we managed to to get just much done as the first, in the second day we got the verses and second chorus done. The second day was more or less local so we didn't have much difficultie with anything. On the second day of filming we had to replace our actress with Nisha because she pulled out last minute again leaving us in a bit of turmoil for a split second. Nisha was very helpful and we were glad to have her in our video which was the missing to the puzzle. We finshed the day and were happy with the work produced by are selves

Production week 4

This week me and my partner went up to London to film for are music video. Over this last week, me and Gareth were supposed to start editing but other groups demanding us to film in their projects so we were unable to get most of our editing done. Me and Gareth were supposed to get some filming done over the weekend to finish off our video but the people we had chosen weren't able to be available so we had to delay our filming and we ended up not getting the footage done, which is upsetting. The main objective of this whole week was to help other groups out but also be able to finish our video so we are all level on where we are withheld course.
We our now behind the rest of the groups due to this minor setback fortunately we were able to get next weekend to bfilm the rest offf are video. On Sunday we could not film because Antonio was unavailable therefore my actress would have nothing to do because he plays a key part in production. My actress was a struggle as she has problems with transport and it is harder for her get to location compared to the rest of the crew.

Production (week 3)

In our first week of filming we got a couple setbacks which delayed our beginning. At the start of the week i had commitment towards another group in my class which needed me to do some acting in central London and locally in the first few days of the half term. Another setback was the reliability of my cast, who had been busy on days me and my partner Gareth were free. My actor Antonio was unavailable for three days which proved to be a major blow because without him the girl was irrelevant. We started filming on the Thursday and filmed our beginning of the music video which was hard because the weather was against us. The weather was windy and bitterly cold which made filming hard as we were all cold. When filming we managed to get shots 1-30 which all had Antonio in. After filming we went home but i had to pay  for our actress that i accidentally brang along that day for no reason. We didn't use her on the day because we realized that her shot are mainly shot locally in Chadwell heath therefore i had to get her.  On Friday we didn't film plus there was some personal reason for me why i didn't choose to film. On Saturday my partner Gareth was unavailable so i could not film without him. On Sunday we could not film because Antonio was unavailable therefore my actress would have nothing to do because he plays a key part in production. My actress was a struggle as she has problems with transport and it is harder for her get to location compared to the rest of the crew.

Pre-Production (Week 2)

This week me and my partner Gareth worked on are shooting script which was designed to help show what we would be filming. The shooting script had to be well detailed because we wanted who ever to see the script be able to picture the video before it was even made or seen. The shooting script had to contain 100 shots minimum and be well detailed in order film from when we start production. My partner Gareth done the start of the song until chorus 3 then i done verse 3 all the way to the end. It was hard to do the shooting script as it  had to be 100 shots and most of our songs lyrics repeated its self which started to become annoying as we dwelled on how to developed a shot for the repeated lyrics. On our final day of shooting we managed to get 100 hundred shots but had to stay behind get the whole script completed. Earlier in the week we had to do a Location Reccie and analyses the areas we chose to  film to see whether it would be a good place to film or not luckily for us the areas we chose were good to film which was great. The area we chose film about was the South Bank which was great because we had good scenery around us making the video more entertaining to film from in our area we had scenes like the London eye and House of Parliament.

Location reccie

These are the possible  locations me and Gareth (my partner) have decided that we want to use for our music video. In our music video we will be using a numerous amounts  of locations in London such as the South Bank/London Eye the wobbly bridge and a living room . Me and Gareth have researched the areas we are filming and we look forward to filming in these locations.

In our music video i wanted different locations in London to make the video more appealing and interesting to the film. Filming in london may be a hard location to film but it is a very public area and getting go footage may be a tedious task if we get our timing.
The London eye is a famous attraction in London and attract large amounts of people we chose this location because it nice imagery and i think it would be a nice venue to use in my music video.
The wobbly bridge has the same value as the the London eye and will be used when trying to capture the fun times the couple have during there fun period
This picture and the one below will be the scenes where the relationship get abit rocky and the audience may be able to foreshadow the ending
The living room will be used to express the love emotion and the hate emotion that will occur in the music video.
This is just a representation of Westminister and i want to use that area because of the lighting at night if we can film there at a certain time.
I want to use this place at night time because it is lively and a good place to use when showing the isolation the girlfriend has when she has the tragic news.

Valentines park will be used when the Friend of the Girl and her start talking and he starts to comfort her.

Pre-Production (Shot List week 1)

Today me and Gareth started our shot list for the music video which was going to be filmed in the half term.
We were provided with a template by sir to begin are shot list which proved to be a harder task than expected. We had to divide are song into two section and we both had to work on the half we chose but in are first week Sir allowed us to work on the first section together. The shot list in total is meant to sum up to 100 minimum. In our first lesson working on the shot list we worked well but we stumbled on some section especially in the actors section because we had just found out that our main star was not going to be available during the half term which is the period were we would do most of our filming. In the shot list we tried to  make it as detailed as possible in our first attempt because Sir gave us about why it should be detailed. The shot list should be detailed so that anybody who is given the list can develop an idea of what is going on in the video without watching. In our first lesson we managed to get the first 3 shots out of 50 which were developed well. All the reason why i chose Gareth came into affect in that lesson as he had great ideas to contribute towards the video which allowed the shots that we described  to be in detail.

Writing out shot list and planning our music video.

THE STRESS OF PLANNING

Job roles and responsiblities

Camera operator & editor= Gareth Fisher
Director & production manager= Jared Sinclair
I picked Gareth to be the camera man because he used a camera before and knows how  to get the vital camera shots that we need to make this music video. It is Gareth's  responsible for the camera and tripod as because he is the camera man. Gareth is not only the camera man he is also the editor and I will have to work with him closely and check in with Gareth to see that the music video to the highest standard that we need. We work really well together and we should be able to make a high level  music video which will may beat previous years work.

I will be the director because I know how I want  the whole song video to look like and I will be able to construct all of my ideas from my head into visual art. The responsibilities that I will have are to be there and ready to film and also for them tough situations that can appear at any moment when filming. I am also the production manager and which will consist of taking control and being able to know what’s going to happen on the day of filming. The video should be brilliant under my control.

Pitch Reflection

1) Are there any areas of your presentation you would like to give more information on.
In my presentation i clearly went over the ideas and things i might add in my music video. In my presentation i think i could of worded some thing differently to help portray my ideas/thoughts more clearly. I think with my music video presentation i could of been more creative with my information and the presentation on whole. I should of added Goodwin's theory in my presentation more because i think i lacked that element which is the key part of the whole music video unit. Technicality i think i could of used animation better because i had certain images popping up when they weren't on cue.

2) Strengths and Weaknesses
My audience let me know weather the presentation was weak or strong, luckily for me my response was positive. The audience nip picked on certain areas of my presentation  on way i could improve it, in my music video feedback i get given some helpful advice form Sir at 01:36 on my idea to think about change it to a video about the friendzone rather than a bad relationship with the friend-zone twist because it would make my video different. My presentation was strong because it highlighted what i wanted my audience to know about my music video but there were some points that needed polishing up so that they were clearer to my audience such as my locations my location were a weak point because i didn't do enough research on though area compared to some of the other sections in my presentation.

3) Improvements
From my feedback could tell there were some points that may of not been clear on i think in future presentations i should be more clearer with my words and work on presentation skills my eye contact was very limited with my audience and i think i looked at the board to often when trying to get my point across to the audience. My tone of voice could of been a bit better i think it dragged along which could sound a bit boring to some members in the audience and making them loose interest in my concept. I used alot of hand movement so that to help me express myself but the aspects i said i should improve on could make my presentation better.

4) Changes to Music Video Concept
I think based on the feedback given i wouldn't change my music video concept but i would change the type of perspective i was trying to promote initial power point. I needed to make the video into a music video about the friend zone rather than be a cheap version of Mario Let Me Love You, i think i should do the friend-zone because it is not as mainstream as the other types of narratives you would find in the love genre. I think if i change it to this idea it would allow me to be more creative and incorporate much more things that would happen to  some who is playing the back seat role with a friend in a relationship. Also if i do make these changes i beloeve it will attract more people in my target audience compared to my original idea.

Email to My Artist

My E-mail to my artist

This is a image of me contacting my artist Cincere asking for permission to use there work in my music assignment.

Cincere Information Pack

Cincere was born in Chicago and raised in Milwaukee; Cincere attended the Lincoln Center School of the Arts. Recognized as an  for young artists and Oprah Winfrey’s alma mater, Cincere found the nurturing environment he was seeking at Lincoln Center and discovered creative outlets in both music and the visual arts which are two things he thrived off.
Throughout his early life, a young Cincere travelled to homeless shelters where there was alot of rough  environments . He was having emotional and financial turmoil but  Cincere continued to perform live  at churches, shelters, and helped schools by spreading his positive message through his music and channel his feelings through songs. “I really just wanted to make others smile. I didn’t have any money to give, so I gave the gift God gave to me.”

Clothing that artist should wear

I have chosen these types of clothing because they go with the sad love emotion you feel when you listen to the music video. The  clothing such as the dark colour jackets is use to because the lighting is goin to be dark. The dark evenings will also go well with the story line as it is very sad and emotional love song , this is why i have chosen clothes such as this to go with it. I think these pieces of clothing also are very plain with nothing much eye catchy except for the potential piercings.

Typography Used

These are some examples of the kind of typography my artist would have for his logo . I think that Cincere is a very classy artist and the writing helps illustrate that .All these images show his name as i believe this is they type of logo he would have if he ever designed one. The first one shows a elegant posh style writing which was inspired by fashion magazines which tend to very classy and mature. The second one is a more bold  look which goes well with Cincere as he has soft and caring look about which echos in his music. The third has a rough look which would would have some sort of dark colour in orderto make it look more attractive.

Muse-En-scene used

These are some of the Mis-En-Scene that i would have in my music video. The first row shows the types of lighting i would want in my music video at the start ,The first image shows a girl crying and it is used a a starter for the audience. The next image is the first sign of the cheating started by the partner. The third image is of a man standing at the window, this might not necessarily be in the video but it used to represent the friend who see everything that occurs in the relationship. The fourth image shows the girl in her bed trying to sleep, the next image was just and example of photography that could be used (High-low). The sixth image shows an double image of two women talking in one picture and below have a man and woman arguing. I wanted to make that image the breaking point in the music video and then the next image shows a women looking stern with a man behind her. The last two images is meant to be a flashback to how things were.

Colours

These are some examples of the colours i would chose to represent the artist and their identity. These are all  colours that go with the emotions you may feel by watching the music video. Red is a natural colour but can  represent things such as  blood, passion. Black represents a dark/sad presence. Navy blue and grey are very hard colours which go good with what the artist is trying to promote with his music.

Imagery
This are some images which  may appear in the viewers head when listening to the artists single called 'Why can't you see'. The song is obviously about love but when you interpret the lyrics you can tell there is another meaning which is "love blindness". When i listening to the song i think about heartbreak and how both parties must feel in the narrative.

99Dollar Music Video

99Dollar Music Video

What is 99dollarmusicvideos.com
99dollarmusicvideos.com is a niche social media company who try to combine with independent artists and film makers help make a very cutting edge music video with original music, creativity and low quality funds, equipment due to financial funds. The company only provides $99 for artists who are not signed  a creative music video with a filmmaker featured on their website which is something you find common in mainstream artist such as Beyonce. There should be a good communication and collaboration between the artist/band and the director as both would pitch ideas to each other and then merge them to make a good and professional music video. The music video will then be shown on their website and also given a premiere date and also advertised on their social network website.

What is their ethos
The Ethos for the website is to create  a music videos for niche artists who needs a source to fund their music video or identity. There video has to be a collaboration between the artist and a filmmaker to help with the quality of the video also matters on and off the camera. The videos  made will be shot in within 24hours and also edited in 24hours, the videos need to be very hypnotic and creative.

What Type of songs, Labels genre appear on their website?
The website clearly shows that an independent (niche) artist can only be provided with $99. The artist and filmmaker will go out and use that money for filming , props and many more. An artist who is signed to a label niche or mainstream wouldn't have to use this website as they can be funded by there record label .  The website tend to have a lot of pop.Relationship between film makers and artist?
The relationship between the artist and the film maker needs to be good . The YouTube account states that  videos must be a collaboration between the band and the film maker' meaning that the video has to be something that both artist and filmmaker to accept and have a contribution towards it. The account wants the video to be something that the artist is enjoys and also the director who filmed and planned it.

Cost included/excluded
When Filming the cost will be given to the filmmaker and the band to help with funds. The usage of your own equipment such as cameras. If the artist needs a new guitar or a hat for the music video then this will be taken from the fund that is given and the maximum of usage would obviously just be $99.

Analysing your song

 Analysing your song

                                                                             (Woooh)
This one goes out to all the ladies, that aint getting it how they wanna get it, so fellas watch out
Do you really think he's going out with his friends all this stuff, baby girl he's got you fooled
yeah, Do you reallly think he's spending all his paper on his homies at the trone you need to
                                                                      know that its real
Cincere is directly talking to the ladies and clearly addresses the matter of why he is taking time to talk to them before doing so he send a warning to the men in general probally preparing them for what he is about to say. What Cincere is about to say may affect the men listening to the song aswell.

                                                                               (chorus)
Baby girl, why dont you just let him go, you best to let him go, you know that , i know that, we know that. Baby girl you just need to let him be and get with me, its easy as 123, gotta be, He don ttreat you like a queen, why can't you see that you should be with me baby, he's a maybe. Imma treat you like a lady.

....... Girl you gotta make him choose, and he never says i love you but even though a really man should,
Cincere is clearly talking to a girl about her current relationship with her partner telling her that he is unfaithful and that she needs to let him go before she really get hurt emotionally. He said it is easy as 123 to help amplify he suggestion. He then says that she should get with him because knows how to treat a women right.

 (chorus) x2

Verse: Girl like here's were you will you would be, im everything your man can not be, its over baby, why cant you see baby, you could be the one for me.  Baby girl you just need to let him be and get with me, its easy as 123, gotta be, He don ttreat you like a queen, why can't you see that you should be with me baby, he's a maybe. Imma treat you like a lady.
Baby girl you just need to let him be and get with me, its easy as 123, gotta be, He don ttreat you like a queen, why can't you see that you should be with me baby, he's a maybe. Imma treat you like a lady.
Now Cincere is comparing himself to her current partner saying how he is not half the man he is. He pleads with her to wake up out of her love blindness to see that the relationship is over and point out the signs of why the whole relationship is shipwrecked by saying he don't treat you like a queen and then goes on again saying how she should be his girl because he can treat her right.

AnalysisThis is a love song dedicated to the girl he vould not get. Cincere is singing about how girls tend to go with a guy who doesn't treat them right by there boyfriends and he wishes he was the partner because belive he can be the best for her. This story line is cliche but it is very true in todays world and Cincere not only represent himself he represent all the other men in that situation.

Section1
The target audience is directed toward ladies aged 17-35 as it goes over certain issues that would occur in there relationship.
The gender is most likely going to appeal to females but may attract male attention.
The ethnic background would be mixed as all races go through this type of trouble.
The location would be directed worldwide because i don't believe the matter should be local/national.

Section2
The song is about how Cincere see's a women who is being messed about by the partner she is with. He breaks down the situation that the women goes through and the  trouble it brings to the female and how she should get with him. He believes that she should be with him because he thinks he can treat her right. Although love stories is cliche this type of narrative is not as common in the love genre. The song is a very soft song and has a very mellow tone. The music goes well with the lyrics which is very easing. The song has a sense of comfort direct towards to the female in the song and that grabs the listener who has tuned in.

Section3
The music used in the song is soft and soothing, this type of music used when the artist or someone is trying to comfort the person. Cincere's voice matches the tone of the music as it is very soft and doesn't carry any other emotion apart from the love and care he is trying to connote.

Section4
The tempo in the song is farely slow this is to help connect with the viewer/listener who is tuning in. The music is is slowed down so that the word said can be heard and be proberly pronounced and help women learn from thoughs lyrics sung by Cincere.

Section5
I would communicate this song by illustrating a women with a unfaithful partner and who cheats on her with other women by flirting and kissing other women. This will help amplify the feelings and awareness of unfaithfulness in relationships.
